Summer Camp 2026
Dear Parents and Community Members,
We are excited to officially introduce Summer Camp 2026 at M&M Academy, a new, dynamic, skill-based boot camp experience designed to inspire, challenge, and elevate our students!
This year’s camp will be led by Sr. Akhirah Washington, who brings energy, creativity, and a passion for developing strong, confident learners.
Our new camp model is structured as a hands-on, skill-building boot camp that will cater to students aged 4–16 years old. Each age group will participate in engaging, project-based learning experiences designed to build real-world skills, teamwork, leadership, and creativity.
Throughout the summer, students will engage in:
• STEM & Engineering Challenges (Computer building, robot building, computer Languages, marble runs, balloon cars, bridge design, and more)
• Creative Arts & Design (canvas painting, tie-dye, pottery, calligraphy)
• Leadership & Life Skills Projects (mini business booth, public speaking, teamwork challenges)
• Science & Nature Explorations (gardening, eco-projects, water filtration labs, butterfly cultivation)
• Performance & Media (skits, storytelling, stop-motion videos)
• Character-Building Projects (Seerah timeline, masjid models, values-in-action activities)
And as always, Qur’an and basic Arabic will remain a central highlight of our camp, ensuring that our children continue strengthening their connection to the Book of Allah while building beneficial worldly skills.
This is more than a traditional summer camp — it is a structured, engaging environment where students grow spiritually, intellectually, socially, and creatively.
We look forward to welcoming your children to a summer filled with learning, confidence-building, faith, and fun.
May Allah place barakah in this effort and make it beneficial for our children and our community.

Summer Camp 2021
With more and more Americans getting vaccinated—and with things moving closer to getting back to normal, slowly but surely—the guidance around what’s safe and what’s not is constantly evolving.
In March, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) provided recommendations for what fully vaccinated individuals can start to safely enjoy after their shots. And while things like getting together with grandparents and traveling are back on the table, the reality is that kids aren’t eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine—yet. Children generally aren’t affected as severely, but families still need to follow safety precautions since kids can get COVID-19 and spread it even if they don’t display any symptoms.
That said, there are certainly more things for kids to enjoy this summer—especially once their parents have been vaccinated.
Here’s some great news: M&M Academy Summer camp 2021 is considered a safe option.
“Kids need to have social activities,” says Sara Bode, M.D., medical director at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. And, says Dr. Bode, “Organized places like summer camps can be a great way to get them enriching activities in a controlled environment where safety measures can be in place.”
In order to meet the needs of all families, this summer, M&M Academy is offering both online and in person camps.

2021 Safety Guidelines for Summer Camps
Before you sign your children up for a summer program, here’s the latest guidance from the CDC and AAP to consider:
- Camp directors should encourage frequent hand-washing, mask-wearing, and social distancing.
- Everyone —regardless of their vaccination status—should continue wearing a mask in public.
- A healthy environment should be maintained, meaning regular cleaning and disinfecting, and the sharing of items should be discouraged.
- Campers, staff, and parents should stay home if they’re feeling sick or have been a close contact of someone with COVID-19.
- If camp is taking place inside, there should be as much ventilation as possible.
- Outdoor summer camps that consist of small groups of children that say together all day, each day are the lowest risk. Summer camps where kids mix between groups and aren’t required to space out will be a greater risk.
- Campers shall bring in their own meals and eat only within their small groups.
- Camp directors shall also have a plan in place—like asking a staff or camper to stay home—should someone become sick.
The Bottom Line
With safety measures in place, camp is a GO!!!. “During the summer, it is important that children begin to re-establish connections with their friends, peers, and non-parental adults in an environment that supports their development while also consistently practicing the recommended principles to limit the spread of SARS-CoV-2,” says the AAP.
