High School Learning Program

M&M Academy High School:
Established in 2011, M&M Academy High School is a four-year Muslim high school, with its first senior class graduating in spring 2014. Our high school classes are structured based on courses, maintaining an average student-to-teacher ratio of 10:1. This low ratio enables our educators to provide personalized support to each student.

High School Curriculum:
The academic program follows a traditional schedule, with five to six 50-minute classes per course. Courses are yearlong and divided into two semesters, each with two quarters. Students are required to take a midterm exam, a cumulative final exam for each course, and complete a research graduation paper for the senior class.

The cumulative final exam for each course assesses the knowledge acquired throughout the year, preparing students for college-level cumulative final exams.

Advanced Placement (AP) Courses

AP courses follow the College Board’s nationally recognized curriculum and give students the opportunity to engage in deeper academic study. While only qualified students may sit for the official AP exam, all high school students enrolled in M&M Academy will be taught at this higher academic level, regardless of exam participation. This ensures that every student benefits from exposure to advanced material.

Criteria for Qualifying for the AP Exam:
To be eligible to take the official AP exam, students must meet the following requirements:

  • Maintain perfect attendance in the AP course
  • Complete and submit all required work on time.
  • Successfully pass a mock AP exam administered at the end of the first quarter.

Students who meet these criteria will be recommended to sit for the AP exam, giving them the opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school.

This structure ensures that all students experience the rigor of advanced coursework, while also setting clear expectations for those wishing to demonstrate mastery through the official AP exam.

Graduation Research Papers

Graduation Research Papers:

Irrespective of their chosen field of study, students are likely to encounter the task of writing a research paper at some point in their academic journey. Mastering the art of crafting a well-written research paper is a valuable skill that will benefit our students throughout their careers.

At M&M Academy, we guide senior students through the process of developing a research paper, starting from brainstormed notes to a refined final draft. This training provides them with a glimpse of what to expect in college.

Following links below are examples of our student’s graduation research papers.

GPA Calculation

Weighted GPA Calculation

Courses are graded on a 4.0 scale as follows:

  • A 4.0 GPA, or Grade Point Average, is equivalent to an A letter grade on a 4.0 GPA scale.  This means it is equivalent to 93-95%.
  • Regular classes will be given points according to the standard scale (A = 4, B = 3, C = 2).
  • Honors classes, grades will be increased by half a
  • Pass/Fail (P/F) or Pass/No Pass (P/NP) courses are not factored in the student’s GPA.
  • Incompletes (I) and Withdrawals (W) do not affect a student’s GPA because these courses do not receive any grade points or credit hours.

The key to success is to understand why you want to graduate early to make it happen.

M&M Academy offers an advanced program for high school students. Students who qualify for the early graduation plan must complete all high school graduation requirements by the end of 11th grade.

Homeschool students will receive an individualized plan that includes all the courses they need to graduate.

Early Graduation Requirements

To qualify for the advanced program at M&M Academy, students must meet the following requirements from 8th to 11th grade.

  1. Students must attend M&M Academy from 8th to 11th grade.
  2. They must achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher in all high school courses taken during 9th and 10th grades.
  3. 95% attendance in all classes. (Excused absence only with proper documentation)
